TOP 3 Full to Medium coverage foundations for Dry Skin

1) Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation
The consistency is lovely, I personally love the way it blends and the dewy finish reminds me of a photoshopped beauty shot. It is a gel like consistency so It’s nice to blend onto the skin. The colour range is good, love the tones.

2) Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting foundation
The packaging is SO convenient, It’s one of those foundations that is easy to pack when travelling. The formula and colour range is perfect. I like to use a beauty blender to blend this out. For more coverage you can use your fingers since they are your best tool. Gives a pretty sheen to the skin.

3) Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat
This foundation is an old favourite thats crept up into my future, haha. The scent takes me way back to my college days. It has a nice scent to it, creamy texture, light weight and evens out skin very well. When using this foundation your skin will look luminous and healthy, you can build up the coverage. Lasting power is around 12 hours.

Top 3 Full to Medium coverage foundations for Oily Skin

1) Makeup Forever Ultra HD
This is a foundation I have had in my kit for years since majority of my clients have oily to combination skin. The new formula is brilliant, It’s been specifically designed for photo’s and videos. Who doesn’t want photoshopped looking skin in their selfies?! The lasting power on this is probably one of the best things, It doesn’t oxidise and works well with either a brush or beauty blender. Oily skin girls best friend but always bare in mind that it also depends on the primer you are using. Try using more of a gel primer with this instead of a liquid one.

2) Estee Lauder Double wear foundation
I’ve always called this foundation the tattoo foundation, It’s been around for so long and I remember a lot of the women in my family using it. Absorbs all the oil well without giving the chalky look to the skin. Coverage is wonderful and It’s best used with a Beauty Blender for a flawless finish. Dries matte. The cons of this would probably be that it dries darker like a lot of matte foundations so be sure to pick up some samples before purchasing. Also the glass bottle is a classic but I personally think they should make it more modern and convenient for travel.

3) Clinique Pore Refining Solution Instant foundation

Another foundation I am familiar with while growing up because a lot of the women in my family have oily skin. I would always see this bottle in makeup bags around the house. It gives an even, matte finish that minimises the look of pores. You probably will only need to do a light dusting of powder as it has good staying power. All this depends on how oily you get and the climate you are in. primers are essential with oily skin. Only wish they had more in between shades.

Sheer coverage foundations for Dry skin

1) NARS Sheer Glow
A popular choice, as it gives a nice glow and “no makeup, makeup” finish. It comes in a range of colours and many people have tried and tested this. The only problem I find with this is that it does tends to separate, I find this with a lot of Nars foundations. As long as you prep your skin well first and set your foundation this is a good choice for dry skin.

2) MAC face and body foundation
My fave Mac foundation that is a must have for all makeup artists for their kits. I love the formula and consistency of this, It’s a classic one from Mac and you can’t go wrong with it. It a great foundation to mix with your full coverage foundations if you want more of a sheer coverage. It’s more to even skin out but is build-able. Use with a flat top brush and set with loose powder. Colour range works differently to regular MAC shades so ask for a few samples to try.

3) Laura Mercier Cream Smooth foundation
Hydrating and creamy. If you suffer from dry or very dry skin this is a good choice, it keeps skin plump and smooth. Makes fine lines and wrinkles appear smoother. I would recommend this for mature women. I like to apply this with fingers because the warmth of our hands helps the product sink in better and gives a glowy finish.

Sheer coverage foundations for Oily skin

1) Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation
You either like this or love it. I love this for every day! The colours are good and the finish is matte and sheer. It doesn’t cover pimples but evens skin complexion out. It comes in a glass bottle that is double glazed which I’m not to keen on because this means there’s less product so it gives the illusion of more product because the bottle looks thicker. The pump is useful and I like the texture and how it glides on. I would recommend using a synthetic brush to apply this foundation using circular motions. I set this with a pressed powder.

2) L’oreal Nude Magique foundation
Liquid foundation, very watery, sheer and dries matte. Glass bottle, inexpensive, little goes a long way. This foundation feels like nothing on the skin, feather light and I feel like I could breathe. Shake bottle before using and apply with fingers. You can build up the coverage but it’s a great every day foundation for work or school. One of my fave drug store brands.

3) Hour Glass Immaculate Liquid To Powder Foundation
I love this brand and it’s packaging. Liquid to matte foundations are a god send for oily skin! This foundation feels light which is what a lot of us want for day time. The only thing we need to remember about these is that they oxidise, so testing them out a couple of times before purchasing is always best. Gives natural coverage, doesn’t give a cakey finish and has long staying power. It contains ingredients that prevent breakouts which a lot of us oily skin girls suffer from. Best to mix it with a tinted moisturiser for day time!

We hope this was a good read for you!

Summer Lovin 15 : Foundation & Concealers

Hi beauties,

As I told I will be doing a Summer Lov’in 15 tag with sharing the products which  I’m loving this summer everyday…so here we are this time its the foundations & concealers, some with sheer coverage, some matt and some luminous.

Loreal Infallible 24 hr. Foundation in Golden Beige 140 : Ok starting with full coverage matte foundation…didn’t go for 24 hrs but it lasts quite well amount of time on me…best thing it doesn’t change color on me which usually happens ( I don’t know if its only me) but it happens many times. Truly long lasting thick foundation which will go for quite long as a pump covers my whole face… and also no worries of fading.

Loreal True match Foundation in Honey beige N6 : As I was travelling and enjoying the pools, got a bit tanned so from Wallgreens picked this amazing foundation in bit darker shade…the consistency of this foundation is runny so be careful …a sheer coverage but buildable to full cover as you apply layers..not super matte but gives a nice dewy velevty finish. Best for vacations when you are in hurry to go out as it blends well fast and looks natural skin like.

Maxfactor Skin Luminizer Foundation in Sand : A nice dewy luminizing finish with sheer coverage foundation, gives an illusion of good flawless skin. Best for the  natural looking days where skin is the main attention…or just mix with the foundation and it gives so beautiful luminous looking skin.

Olay Natural White BB cream in Fair with 15 : Summer is not complete without a good BB cream..right! So this moisturizes and  coverage too …best for everyday use….put it on you are ready to go.

Maxfactor Eye Luminizer Brightener in Fair light : this is very interesting this is like a luminizing concealer which bring light to the under eye with sheer concealing…good for everyday when you don’t want to wear concealers but want to give some coverage to under eye to look fresh.

Shiseido Perfecting Stick Concealer in Natural : this is my fav from past months as it conceals corrects the under eye, any blemishes or acne scars..very creamy with coverage and blends so well …just have to set with powder.

Hope you  enjoyed my post! Do you have any favourites this summer… share with me maybe I like to try too.

Review : MaxFactorX Whipped Creme Foundation & MaxfactorX Creme Puff Pressed Powder

Hi beauties,

Had been using this MaxfactorX Whipped Crème Foundation since Eid so thought why not share my opinion about it.As didn’t try many products from this makeup line but I heard this is the same Covergirl in US…so wanted to try more from this. I was looking for a foundation that was not so heavy but covers so thought trying this one….as I read first read whipped, instantly thought it must be a mouse foundation but this is like regular foundation but very dense. So want to know more about it…keep reading 😉

It comes in a glass pot, the texture of the foundation is itself very thick but as you apply on the face it just buffs in like a dream.Has a light scent which I think is like bitter almonds (weird ) which goes in couple of minutes. Very light but the coverage is good & buildable. It blends to a semi dewy matte finish …as not flat matte & not so dewy…I left it like this so see how much shiny it gets but it was surprisingly good…..  later in the day I used the Maxfactor Crème Puff pressed powder to just matte those areas which I usually get shiny, just I didn’t like one thing about it the pressed powder also has strong scent to it which I am not much fan …I prefer makeup products to be very lightly scented ….anyway on applying it goes.

All over I didn’t see any fading or blochiness on my face during the day…liking it very much as it gives a fresh face in minutes and I love products which are easy to blend.

I have mine in 2 shades MaxfactorX Whipped Crème Foundation in crystal Beige &  MaxfactorX Whipped Crème Foundation in soft honey which is a bit darker .. I use both together just to keep my complexion balanced not too light not too dark. The Maxfactor Crème Puff pressed powder pressed powder is in shade 53 Tempting Touch which in pan looks quite pink but when applied doesn’t show any color but mattifies.

All of these are easily available at boots on the Maxfactor counter.

Product Review : Bourjois Happy Light Foundation

Hi Beauties,

As the weather is changing being a bit pleasant so thought why not get a new foundation which is light and gives decent coverage….so bought this yes  Bourjois happy Light Foundation which was already posted here and was waiting to get my hands on it.

So here it is meet my new foundation, its nice light on skin and very decent coverage as much I want very buildable also. I bought it in Rose beige N*55 which looks nice tanny in the bottle but looks oh my god so gorgeous on skin , you can choose which ever color suits you I mostly mix foundations to get my perfect color 😉 It comes in nice pump glass bottle, easy to carry it with you but once you apply it I don’t think you will need to apply it again its very longlasting without melting.

As it says Bourjois Happy Light  Foundation gives Luminous & Flawless complexion in any light (Translucent Pigments) Corrects without masking and a light enhancer.

So my verdict on it, its nice  light foundation looks dewy on the skin with decent coverage, what I loved about  it changes from foundation to velvety powdery  giving a luminous finish( may be its due to translucent pigments). Nice dewy to matte, not shiny complexion…it gives nice glow to skin. It corectifies  undertones or any blemishes, without layering so much a small amout is enough as its quite well pigmented but you will need a concealer for any dark scaring or blemish.

I found it very good for daily use as it gives a polished look in minutes without spending lots of time on blending just blends like a dream I used just my fingers to blend and it blended so well…. so far loved it. Just did some swatch and blending review for you so that you can see how it looks on skin loved the color it gave to my skin I think I will fae tan all also with it ;), so take a look

Its easily available at Faces and Vavavoom …so enjoy girls and stay beautiful ❤
