As I was travelling those who are following me on Instagram must be knowing ,since I came back my skin was not acting properly. Was having some bad skin hazards so planned for a Professional Facial.
Yesterday got an appointment for facial at Harvey Nichols to try the Elemis SpaPod – Power Booster Facial. Those who don’t know, Elemis is the leading luxury British spa and skincare brand favoured by as many as 6.5 million spa-goers per year. Elemis is committed to understanding the earth’s natural resources, continuing to source the latest ground-breaking active ingredients.
So I was on time at the Harvey Nichols at Avenues Phase II at the Elemis counter where their Middle East trainer/therapist Bochra welcomed me. Here is my experience of their hugely popular “Tri Enzyme Resurfacing Facial” – the unique treatment targets blemishes, uneven skin tone, superficial facial scarring and fine lines, revealing a younger looking skin.
First Bochra asked me a few questions about my skin care routine, my lifestyle and what I was expecting from the facial. After this, she led me to the room which is called SpaPod, a mini Spa Room. Before the treatment she asked me to rest my chin inside their SkinLab machine – a face mapping equipment, so she could map my face, check what condition my skin was in after which she recommended the Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial.
Now for the treatment starts, I was first asked to sit comfortably in a nice, plush massage chair, set on low so I also got a relaxing body massage. Oh my what to tell you about the experience, I was really needing this. Once I was comfortable she applied the Soothing Chamomile Cleanser to remove the impurities and makeup off my face. Not forgetting to mention that the toner also smells great, very relaxing.
She then followed it with the Balancing Lavender Toner which is alcohol-free (so doesn’t dry the skin), placed cotton pads soaked in the Soothing Apricot Toner on my eyes, yes you can use this toner for a soothing eye treatment also. Now my face was ready for the next step which was exfoliation.
My therapist recommended the Papaya Enzyme Peel, it was so gentle, not like your regular exfoliator that are scorching scratchy. This was very smooth and gentle. Since I had some pimples too, it didn’t even irritate or aggravate them.
She told me that now she was going to apply the Tri-enzyme Peel-off mask, a tingly gel kinda product, but the tingling was not so harsh. It comes in a fine powder form which is mixed with a little water to create a paste. When it was applied to my face, it felt cold and a creamy texture, it just calmed all the hot spots of my face.
She then followed by a eye compress on my eyes, which was really relaxing. Till the mask dried the therapist gave my hands and arms a hot stone massage. You cant believe how relaxed it felt with lotions and potions she applied before the stone. And the warm stone experience was just new and amazing for me. Gliding the warm stone across my hands and arm made me so relaxed. Never ever had that before, my hands these days are having lots of tension because of blogging so this was very relaxing.
The mask was a peel off mask. When the mask was peeled off, it felt as if a layer of dull mask was taken off my face. I usually use drugstore peel-off masks at home before also but this was different. After the facial I really felt a huge difference, my face felt so cool and even afterwards. I asked if I could purchase it, unfortunately it’s only for professional use (which is why the facials you do at spas do not give you that instant result) as you can continue using the products recommended for home to maintain the results for longer.
For the next step she applied Soothing Apricot toner all over my face to balance the PH, not forgetting to mention the smell ahhhh really so relaxing. Next she applied the Pro-collagen Marine Cream, a light-weight gel moisturizer that get absorbed instantly. Last but not the least she applied Liquid layer, their SPF30 an absolute must after any resurfacing facial. For home Bochra recommended me to use the Tri-enzyme resurfacing serum (under my moisturizer) that can be used morning & evening and Tri-Enzyme Night Cream for night. In the end my skin looked incredibly clean and felt smooth and radiant, bringing a renewed level of evenness and clarity to my complexion without exaggerating my breakouts.
My Verdict : Highly recommended girls must give a try and you will never have an ordinary beauty salon facial, because it is available at such a affordable price.
