DIY: Easy and Quick Ways To Style Your Hair

Although I am a product junkie, styling my hair has never been my thing. I never manage to look the part, and my hair is pulled back in a ponytail most of the time. Unless I have a super important event to attend, I’m not putting much effort into my locks. Often times, my girlfriends will ask me to meet them after work, but after a long day at work, my hair definitely looks the part of a tired writer; to put it simply, I’m usually in no condition to head out for a night on the town.

Cue the drums! You can literally do these simple and sexy styles in the bathroom before you leave the office in less than a minute! Just thank me later!

Braid hair into two low sections in the back of your head–don’t tie them at the bottom.

Spray hair with some hairspray and flat iron over each section.

Hair will be beachy and beautiful as you tousle it; add a little bit more spray as the finishing touch!

Low Twisted Bun

Part your hair and grab the front right section.

Twist it back and follow the hairline by twisting down. Repeat this on the other side.

Tie the two twisted sections of hair together with an elastic band at the base of your neck, and put all the hair together in a ponytail.

Separate your ponytail into two sections, and twist each section around the elastic band to create a bun!

 Side Braid

Tease hair on the crown for extra lift (always remember, the dirtier your hair the better).

Gather hair to one side and tie together with a rubber band.

Wrap a piece of hair around the elastic and keep it covered–tuck or pin it underneath.

Separate hair into sections and braid loosely until an each from the end; then use a hair tie.

Finally, pull edges of the braid to make it look more tousled.

Modern Bun

Take the ends of your hair, and cross them over to create a knot.

Then create another knot at the end of your hair.

Twist your knotted ponytail into a bun, and leave the ends of hair un-tucked.

At the end, spray the bun with hairspray to hold.
